Rising Tides, Rising Voices: Climate Science, Justice and Action in Maine

Date February 28 @ 6:00 pm - April 3 @ 7:30 pm
Price Free

In this free, online educational program, Maine youth ages 13-18 will learn about how climate change impacts Maine’s ocean and coastline and what youth can do about it. This six-part participatory online series will take place weekly on Zoom from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, February 28 – April 3, 2024.

We’ll start the series by grounding ourselves in the science and data of Maine’s changing oceans: rising sea levels, warming temperatures, ecological changes, and other coastal climate impacts. Then the majority of the program will focus on climate justice and taking action, such as telling your story, engaging in the legislative process, community organizing, and other ways youth can advocate for Maine’s ocean and climate. Youth leaders in Maine’s climate justice movement will facilitate this free program, which is led by Maine Youth for Climate Justice, Maine Climate Action Now, and 4-H/Maine Cooperative Extension.
